Mason Says His War Hawks Need Maturity

The slow start doomed the McMurry War Hawks, and head coach Mason Miller says the loss to the Rams is all about maturity for his guys.
The McMurry War Hawks got another taste of life in the Lone Star Conference on Saturday in a non-conference game with Angelo State.

The Rams jumped out fast on McMurry to start the game and built a big lead.

The slow start doomed the War Hawks, and head coach Mason Miller says the loss to the Rams is all about maturity for his guys.

Coach Miller said, "As a team, as players, as coaches, we've got to figure out how to stay calm through adversity.  Not so much that we were running around like a bunch of chickens with our heads cut off, but we couldn't stop the bleeding. That comes from maturity, and that comes from reps. I'm like our team, so I'm not mad at them. I just want them to grow up faster."

The War Hawks run through the Lone Star Conference continues with a trip to Wichita Falls to visit Midwestern State. That game starts at 7 on Saturday.
