McM Women's Golf 8th After Day 1 at Hawks Creek Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas – After Day 1 of the Hawks Creek Invitational, McMurry University’s women’s golf team finds itself in eighth place after 18 holes on the Hawks Creek Golf Club course.

FORT WORTH, Texas – After Day 1 of the Hawks Creek Invitational, McMurry University’s women’s golf team finds itself in eighth place after 18 holes on the Hawks Creek Golf Club course.

The War Hawks have a team aggregate of 329, but are within nine shots of sixth place.

Junior Leah Morgan and newcomer Arabella Cruz lead the team with first round totals of 81. Morgan had a 43 on her out nine and regrouped with an impressive 38 coming in. Cruz went 41-40. The duo are tied for 27th.

Senior Makenzie Stone was close behind in 32nd place with a round of 82. Sophomore Randi Hanfeld shot an 85 (good for a tie for 42nd). Cameron Wallace rounded out the McM roster with a 92.

The Hawks Creek Invitational will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday (Sept. 10).
