AED produces alternative energy by chopping down mesquite and juniper trees, and turns them into wood pellets. These pellets are then shipped off to Europe for them to use instead of coal.
The city of Coleman has offered 232 acres of land to AED to use. AED plans to produce 150,00 tons of pellets. The land sits just outside Coleman across from their water treatment facility.
With the building of a new plant comes more jobs. About fifty to sixty new jobs; fifteen to twenty within the plant itself. People are also happy because it will help their local businesses grow by bringing more people to Coleman and some businesses are hoping to contract with AED.
The land lease needs to be signed by January 31, 2014. It will last thirty years.
If signed, AED plans to start construction between January and March.
