No Scoreboard Watching for the Abilene High Eagles

The Abilene High Eagles have to win over Midland High on Friday night and get some help to get into the playoffs.

As a result of that, you can expect to the Eagles players, coaches, and fans to be doing a little scoreboard watching.

When you are doing that, it's hard to focus on the task at hand for most teams, but not the Eagles. They are ready to go.

Derek Scott said, "We've been taught all year just to focus on us, and  that's what we're going to go out there and do on Friday night. If we take care of our business then hopefully Coronado will take care of theirs."

Miguel Espinoza said, "We just got to stay focused on what we're doing and just execute what we're doing. That other game, it's out of our hands, we really can't control it, so we just got to focus on what we're doing and do our best to get a win."

Scott said, "We just got to take care of our business, and the rest will fall where it may. We just have to go out there and win the game and that's all that we can control."

Espinoza said, "Our coaches do a great job of that. They've told us a lot just to focus on what we're doing and just focus on the task at hand and just do what we do best and do our best to get a win."

Abilene High has to beat Midland to be in contention at all, and they need Lubbock Coronado to beat Odessa Permian. If those things happen, the Eagles are playoff bound.
