The weekend is more of a reason why a hot air balloon pilot held a class Saturday night to teach people how to safely and properly handle balloons.
Pilot Dwayne Jackson presented slides and visuals to explain the importance of proper instructions. Since the balloons don't land where they take off, there are specific rules people need to abide by to ensure safety.
Some of Jackson's key points include the need for a ground crew to help with take-off and chase down where the balloon will land.
The session was held at Red Bud park. The visitors plan on attending the festival which celebrates their 17th year.
