A two-vehicle accident on South 27th and Barrow St caused a power outage early Sunday evening.
Police directed traffic on the intersection after a driver traveling eastbound on South 27th failed to stop at a red light. The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. The female driver of the car struck another vehicle heading southbound on Barrow St and crashed into an electrical pole.
The impact twisted the cables of the electrical pole and took out the power several blocks around the incident.
Three passengers were involved and one driver was sent to Hendrick Medical for minor injuries.
