Researchers in Toronto studied more than 1,000 three- to five-year-old children.

They found children who did not eat a variety of healthy foods were more likely to have the precursors for heart problems as adults.

Experts say parents should provide access to healthy foods and encourage children to listen to internal cues to determine when and how much they eat, rather than depending on the TV or parents.
