Verdict Reached in Evans Child Sex Assault Case

A verdict has been reached in the trial of Archer Lee Evans, a man accused of continuous sexual assault of a child.

The trial has ended and a verdict has been reached in the trial of Archer Lee Evans, the man accused of continuous sexual assault of a child.

Evans has been found guilty on one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony, and one count of sexual assault of a child, a second degree felony.

The sentencing phase is next. Evans is eligible for at least 25 years in prison.

The Archer Lee Evans trial continues Wednesday.

On Tuesday, his victim testified that Evans abused her for years.

A friend encouraged her to talk with a school counselor, which eventually led to the arrest of Evans.

Evans is charged with the continuous sexual assault of a child and is facing at least 25 years in prison if convicted.


Update 08/06/13

Prosecution began Tuesday morning for a man charged with continuous sexual assault of a child.

During the trial, pictures were shown of where the alleged assaults took place. It was also revealed the victim in this case went to an adult at school and told them about what the accused,  Archer Lee Evens, had been doing to her.

Evens is facing at lease 25 years in prison if convicted.

The trial is expected to last the rest of the week.

Jury selection has begun in the trial of 41-year-old Archer Lee Evans who is accused of continuous sexual assault of a child.

He was originally indicted for continuous sexual abuse of a female child, and sexual assault of another little girl, as well.

Court records indicate the alleged crimes took place beginning in 2010.

Jury selection is expected to last through the afternoon.
