Casey Goldman says he started taking the drugs when he couldn't get his hands on anything else. He quickly learned that the short-lived, intense high wasn't always worth it.

He and Ronnie Garcia are now in recovery at the Abilene Dream Center. Ronnie says he, too, had a similar experience with synthetic drugs. But he saw what it did to others as well, saying a friend of his took so much spice that the high ultimately killed him.
