12/13/13 Update

Rising Star has rescinded the boil water notice that was sent out on December 11 due to a loss in water pressure.

The proper measures have been taken to restore water purity and it is now tested safe for consumption.

Original Story

Due to a loss in water pressure, the City of Rising Star has issued a boil water notice.

The issue which resulted in the loss of water pressure has been fixed, however, anyone receiving water from the Rising Star water supply should bring any water to be consumed or used for cooking to a roiling boil, then let boil for two minutes.

This is to make certain any bacteria or other microbes that may have entered the water supply during the drop in pressure are destroyed.

When the notice has been lifted, the city will notify consumers in the same was as this notice.

For any further questions, call City Hall at 254-643-4261.
