The Drew County fire engulfed more than 600 acres last week, and Michael Fritts had nothing but his cellphone.
But thankfully, it had a full battery, because the 35-minute 911 call he made shows how close he came to not surviving the fire.
He says one dispatcher is the only reason he's still here.
"I was out walking in the woods and all the sudden the fire was circling me," Fritts said.
