Six Big Country Teams Ranked by Harris to Start Playoffs

The first week of the playoffs have arrived, and with that comes the cut to the Top Ten by Harris Ratings. This week a total of six Big Country high schools make the cut.
The first week of the playoffs have arrived, and with that comes the cut to the Top Ten by Harris Ratings. This week a total of six Big Country high schools make the cut.

Two teams are ranked this week in Class 2A, and it should be no surprise both are in Eastland County. The Eastland Mavericks remain in the Top Ten at number eight after locking up a district title against Clyde last Friday night. Meanwhile, Cisco remains second in division two after continuing their perfect run through the regular season a week ago.

The bulk of the Big Country teams ranked by Harris Ratings are once again in Class 1A. Three of them are in division one, and the Stamford Bulldogs are the highest ranked at number five. Their district rival, the Anson Tigers, moved up one spot this week to number six after Friday's close loss to Stamford.

The Goldthwaite Eagles round out the Top Ten after having the week off heading into this week's bi-district round.

Albany is once again comes in at number eight in division two after a three-point victory over Hamlin last Friday night for the district title.
