RICHARDSON, Texas — Six Hardin-Simmons volleyball players have won postseason honors from the American Southwest Conference in voting done by the league’s head coaches and announced by the conference office on Monday.
Senior outside hitter Christine Sas was named a first-team selection for the fourth time. Sas is second in the conference in kills per set with 3.30. Senior middle blocker Tori Martinez was named a first team selection as well. Martinez is fifth in the league in kills and sixth in hitting percentage. She is a two-time all-ASC selection.
Senior libero Ashley Babineaux was named to the second team. She is second in the conference with 513 digs on the season. Junior right side Hannah Hornsby was named to the third team.
HSU’s two setters junior Molli Owen and freshman Tucker Smith were named honorable mention selections.
The Cowgirls are 19-14 and will look for their fourth straight American Southwest Conference title this weekend at Texas-Dallas. HSU goes into the tournament as the No. 4 seed.
