Snyder Stays Alive in Playoff Hunt

The Snyder Tigers continued their push to the playoffs on Saturday with a win over Greenwood.

Earlier in the week Snyder picked up a win over the Wylie Bulldogs. That combined with a loss by the Big Spring Steers got them back in the hunt for the final playoff spot.

A win on the weekend would ensure Snyder a shot at the playoffs heading into the final week of the season.

The Tigers got off to a good start on Saturday by score six unanswered runs. They would take a 6-0 lead heading to the top of the sixth when Greenwood would bring home Zach Long for their first run of the game.

Snyder would get that run in the bottom half of the inning after Brenon Long scored on a Logan Tate grounder to the short-stop. That made it a 7-1 game heading to Greenwood's final at-bat.

Kutter Derryberry would shut down the Rangers from there and hold on for a 7-1 victory.

With the win the Tigers now need to beat Sweetwater on Friday and get some help from Wylie to get a spot int he postseason.
