Stamford Back In Title Game For 1st Time Since 1959

The Stamford Bulldogs are back in the State Championship game for the 1st time since 1959.
The Stamford Bulldogs are back in the State Championship game for the 1st time since 1959.

The Bulldogs stumbled in the middle of the season with 2 straight losses, but got things headed in the right direction... It's been a long journey from almost not making the playoffs, to now, being just 1 win from winning a State Championship.

"We knew, the first day Coach Hutch told us we could be where we are at now, and getting beat my Albany and Seymour the first two district games really gave us a little want too. We knew that we could beat them the next two times and make it to state where we are at now."    Says Junior Dalton Mathis

"Going against Seymour and Albany just gave us more of a push once we lost to them and taught us to be humble and make better of our mistakes and grow better as a team." adds Junior Roy Alaniz.

Here's what's ahead for Stamford...They take on Mason and Running Back Super Star David Mora for the title. They meet on Thursday at Cowboys Stadium at Noon.
