The Stamford Bulldogs kicked off the defense of their Class 1A state title with a win over McCamey in Big Spring on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting the offense moving on with a long pass from new quarterback Bo Wimberly to top target James Washington. That would take the ball inside the McCamey red-zone, and the Bulldog would punch it in for an early score.

Stamford would go on to cruise to a 40-13 victory and start their season off with a victory.
