Stamford Wins Battle of State Champs Against Munday

It's not often you find a match-up of defending state champions in Week 1, but that's exactly what fans of Munday and Stamford had Friday night.
It's not often you find a match-up of defending state champions in Week 1, but that's exactly what fans of Munday and Stamford had Friday night.

The Bulldogs picked up right where they left off Week Zero, and kept it going in their home opener against Munday. First it was a touchdown pass from Gus West to James Washington. A short time later running back Ty McLemore found then endzone to give Stamford a 13-0 lead.

The Moguls would start to get something going on offense late in the first quarter with a long run by Alfonzo Nunez. Unfortunately for the Moguls, Stamford would hold them out of the endzone on that series for the rest of the game.

Stamford would go on to win this year's match-up between the two state champs by the count of 61-0.
