San Antonio police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of former McMurry University student Lauren Bump.

Christian Ivan Bautista, 29, was booked around 7 a.m. Saturday on a murder charge. According to San Antonio police, Bautista's listed address was less than four miles from O.P. Schnabel Park in San Antonio where Bump's body was found by a couple on New Year's Eve.

Police say Bautista approached someone at O.P. Schnabel Park and that person called 911. He was taken into questioning and that led to his arrest for Bump's murder.

Bump is a 2010 graduate of McMurry University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science.  She was also a graduate student at Harding University located in Searcy, Ark. According to Harding University, Bump was enrolled in their physician assistant program and was scheduled to graduate in May 2014.
