Precinct No. 2 on the County Commissioners Court is the only Taylor County position on the ballot this election.

For the past four years, the position has been held by Democratic candidate Dwayne Tucker.

"I've got more than  200 hours of continued education in county government," he said.  "Just the experience I've gotten in the past four years seems to put me way ahead."

Tucker's Republican challenger, Kyle Kendrick, hopes to win enough votes to become the county's newest commissioner.  Kendrick was not available for an interview.

Early voting ends Friday.  Election day is Nov. 2.
