Top Matchups of 2011: Week 7

Texas Football Magazine says the Brownwood/Snyder game will be for the District 5-3A championship. Colorado City and Hamlin are also featured in the Top Match Ups of the 2011 season.
The Snyder Tigers make the 150 mile trip south to Brownwood to face the Lions in a game that Texas Football Magazine says will be for the District 5-3A title. In 2010, Brownwood topped Snyder 61 to 20 in route to a perfect regular season. The Lions victory was the difference in the district race. This year, the Tigers seem to have the advantage even though the game is in Brownwood. Snyder has 14 positions filled with starters from a 10 and 3 team from last year. Brownwood is rebuilding with just 7 starters returning.

Now to District 2-2A Division 1, The Colorado City Wolves are looking to repeat as the district champions and a win over the Crane Golden Cranes will be important for them to achieve that goal. The Wolves beat Crane in C-City last year, 42 to nothing. This Crane is picked to take the final playoff berth from the district, Colorado City is expected to take the crown for a 2nd year in a row. The Wolves will be loaded on offense this year with 7 starters back on both sides of the ball...

And finally, we go to District 7-A Division 2. A very good matchup between district championship contenders. The Ralls Jackrabbits come south to face the Hamlin Pied Pipers. Ralls played Hamlin to the end in 2010, but the Pipers came home with a 6 point victory. This year, The Pipers are picked to claim the District championship and they are ranked 10th in the Texas Football Magazine poll. Ralls is expected to claim the 3rd and final playoff berth in the district.
