This past March, the Bulldogs found themselves locked in a tie with Wichita Falls Hirschi in the closing seconds of the regional finals.
That's when Lopez stepped up. He knocked down a jump shot that would give the Bulldogs a 2 point lead with just 2 seconds left on the clock.
Lopez said, "When Marcus Foster hit that shot, and we got the ball in, I just worked to get it down court because I knew they were going to pressure. Once I got to halfcourt, and they weren't pressuring, my eyes lit up when they gave me space, I thought I could go. Coach gave me the green light to go, and I hit the shot. It was an amazing feeling."
Wylie held on from there to advance to the State Tournament in Austin for the 2nd time in school history.
