Most counties throughout the Abilene District are reporting some type of moisture that could quickly affect road conditions. Very slick conditions are reported on I-20 in Mitchell and Howard Counties.

Drivers should understand that treated roadways will still be difficult to navigate in freezing conditions and are strongly urged to reconsider any travel plans over the next few days. Even a small amount of precipitation can cause slick spots and black ice on roadways that may appear to be clear.

For statewide road conditions call 800-452-9292 or visit www.drivetexas.org. Winter weather driving tips are available at http://www.txdot.gov/driver/weather/winter-driving.html.

The Abilene District includes: Kent, Stonewall, Haskell, Borden, Scurry, Fisher, Jones, Shackelford, Howard, Mitchell, Nolan, Taylor and Callahan Counties
