Brown County emergency responders were kept busy Friday morning with multiple vehicle accidents reported Friday because of weather. A series of accidents were being reported as the roads began to get slick due to a mixture of sleet and rain falling across the county Friday morning.
Around 10:00 a.m., five cars were involved in an accident on Highway 67 near Bangs Hill according to law enforcement, with one vehicle being sought after leaving the scene. Three Guardian EMS units were called to the scene and one person was transported while others were treated for minor injuries according to responders.
Vehicles involved included a truck with a fifth wheel trailer and several passenger cars.
Brownwood Police, Brownwood Fire Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bangs Volunteer Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene of this accident.
Within an hour, multiple other accidents were being reported including a rollover accident approximately 3 miles outside of Early on Hwy 377 E, a car which went off the road on FM 2525 near County Road 317, another car off the road in the construction zone in Early. No injuries were reported in the accidents involving cars off the roadway; however, the driver of the rollover accident was being transported for evaluation and treatment of injuries (the extent of which were unknown).
Authorities advise the public to use caution on roadways during this inclement weather.
