Update: Investigators Seeking Tips in Crow Street Arson Case

The pickup that was found on fire Thursday on Crow Street is being investigated as a case of arson and investigators are asking for the public's help.

Investigators have officially confirmed the truck found on fire on Crow Street Thursday is being investigated as a case of arson.

However, investigators say they have no suspects in the case as of yet and are asking for the public's help.

11/07/13 3:50 Update

We have an update on the pickup that was found on fire on Crow Street in Abilene Thursday morning.

The police contacted the owner of the pickup after recovering identifying information from inside the vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Silverado.

The victim checked the area he had left the truck on Wednesday afternoon, a business parking lot in the 2200 block of Industrial Blvd, and reported finding broken glass at the scene.

The owner of the stolen truck made an official report with the Abilene Police Department around 3 p.m. Thursday, and police are still investigating.

The truck is valued at around $5,000.

Reports came in Thursday morning about a vehicle on fire on Crow Street in Abilene.

Police suspect the vehicle may have been stolen, and then ditched in the area and set ablaze. Though an initial check found no reports of the vehicle being stolen, according to police, Crow Street is a common place for illegal dumping.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

The incident is still under investigation and we will have more information as it becomes available.
