The weather has affected many people's plans over the weekend and caused many accidents. Guardian EMS in Brownwood say they were busy over the weekend and received calls non stop. On Friday, they responded to seven traffic accidents in the morning.
Many people didn't except the weather to change dramatically, according to operation manager Jimmy Trowbridge.
"People weren't ready for this kind of weather," Trowbridge adds. "They didn't know how to react."
The company used trucks instead of their vans for more stability on the roads.
Guardian EMS advises people not to slam on their brakes when they hit a patch of ice. Instead, coast to a stop and don't over steer. In addition, they ask people to leave early and be cautious.
