Abilene public health workers are administering flu vaccine Monday.
Abilene public health workers are administering flu vaccine Monday.

It's the first flu shot clinic of the season.

The health department workers are offering the flu shots against the strains expected this winter.

The cost is $20.

They are offering extra-strength flu shots for people who are at least 65-years-old.

Health workers say the flu can be more dangerous for elderly people and those who have chronic health problems.

The clinic is going on at the Abilene-Taylor County Health District at North 6 and Pine in downtown Abilene.
