Mayor Norm Archibald publicly expressed his appreciation for the leadership and tenacity of Emily Ramierez. She worked to raise the money for some new doors at Abilene High School to make it easier for handicapped students and teachers to get through the campus.

Archibald says her work demonstrates the ability of committed individuals to make things better for themselves and other people.

Ramierez worked to raise the money for the new handicapped-accessible doors.
