Wildcats Start D-I Journey This Week

The Wildcats and head coach Ken Collums are getting ready to play the programs first game at the NCAA Division I level.
The start of the football season is exciting for every school, but at ACU it's especially exiting this year.

The Wildcats and head coach Ken Collums are getting ready to play the programs first game at the NCAA Division I level.

The Wildcats are starting their probationanary period as they make the transition to FCS, so championships are not on the line for the next 4 years.

That said, it's still exciting to start a new era.

Coach Collums said, "When anything is new and exciting it's a really good deal, but ultimately, that's not the reason our guys show up and work hard every day. It's because they love the game of football. They love being at ACU."

Linebacker Vicente Cantu-Harkless said, "We know this is the beginning of a D-I era for ACU. We are really excited to jump it off and lead to a great record this year, and lead ACU to starting off on the right foot."

The Wildcats open the season and new era at home on Saturday night. Concordia College, from Alabama, comes to town.
