Wylie School Board approved a new policy that will allow limited use of cellphones for students. Before, cell phones were not allowed to be on or visible. Now, students can use them during lunch and other times of the day.

Wylie parents say it will keep many students from their studies, as they were already abusing the cell phone policy before.

One parent says there's just no use for cell phones outside of before and afternoon school hours. Another says her granddaughter needs the cell phone because her younger brother has autism, and they use that phone to make sure he's doing okay.

Though they can see the benefits, parents say it will be distracting no matter what.
