The Abilene High Eagles enter the 2013 season looking for new faces to step and take over.

Head coach Steve Warren's team is set to have 18 new starters on the field Friday night at Shotwell Stadium.

The 2012 Eagles were dominated by seniors, but this year's team will have a lot of juniors in the line up.

It's a season of transition, but coach Warren and the rest of the Eagles are ready to get the new year started.

Coach Warren said, "We've really improved every day. We have not had a bad practice. That's the thing that I really like. We've executed well. The big about it now is that we have to put it all, you know the intensity level, the emotion, the lights, the cheerleaders, the loud sounds, all of that, out there on the field and put it all together to see how we react. We're young. We're a young football team. We've got a lot of guys that haven't played on Friday night, so there reaction to that is going to be important and how they handle that is going to be important."

The Eagles open up against Hebron in the final game of the Champions Classic at Shotwell Stadium. They will kick off at 7:30.
