A nice steady rain was falling Friday evening in Abilene.  It marks the first of what should be about five days worth of rain that carries through next Tuesday.  Heaviest rainfall amounts on Friday were in Snyder where they received over 3 and a half inches of rain between noon and 6pm.  Knox City received over one inch.  Haskell and Stonewall counties also received beneficial.  The upper level low causing the rain had hardly moved any at all, still spinning to the west of Phoenix Friday night.  As it pokes along to the east, it will send waves of rain and thunderstorms through West Central Texas.  Already Friday Scurry and Mitchell counties were placed under a Flash Flood Watch but other counties could be added going through the weekend.  Expect temperatures this weekend to vary, depending on rain at the time, but generally from the mid 60's in the morning to around 80 in the afternoon.
