The last two days have been a blessing for the Big Country. Rain that had so long evaded us, suddenly made a big impact on agriculture, lake levels and most of all, moral and attitudes. Rainfall totals from 4 to 6 inches are common across the Big Country. The heaviest rain fell east and south of Abilene with a stretch from Coleman to Cross Plains to Cisco seeing between 6 and 10 inches over the past two days. The lighter amounts of 2 inches or less fell in the western and northwestern Big Country but rain chances are still good tonight and tomorrow in those areas. We have a good chance to see more showers and storms on Wednesday, mainly west of Abilene. All still capable of dropping heavy downpours. Temperatures will heat up on Wednesday to near 85 degrees. With all the wet ground and moisture in the air, it will be very humid. Only a slight chance for showers will remain on Thursday then dry weather forecast going into the weekend as highs get back to 90 or just abgove Friday through the weekend.
