By Randy Turner
Storms produced very heavy rain over portions of Callahan, Eastland and Brown counties Tuesday evening. Storms also caused some wind damage in Cross Plains where two trees were reported blown over, according to law enforcement. The stormy weather will continue Wednesday night through Thursday night. An area of rain was moving from west to east across the Big Country as of 8:30 Wednesday night, but a new area of storms were forming in the Panhandle moving southeast. It is those storms we expect to impact the Big Country pre-sunrise Thursday morning. A cold front will also be moving through the Big Country on Thursday afternoon and numerous showers and storms are expected to develop along the front. Some storms could produce hail, damaging wind and very heavy rain on Thursday. Stay alert and be prepared to move inside a sturdy building for safety.
