The area of low pressure we’ve been watching for the past several days is now moving east of the Big Country taking rain chances along with it. Some sunshine is in the forecast today, especially west of Brownwood. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s with partly cloudy skies. We’ll see partly cloudy skies on Wednesday and Thursday. A weak disturbance moves through Friday evening giving us another slight chance for rain.
So for today temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80’s with afternoon sunshine west of Abilene, and possibly some redevelopment of storms east of Brownwood. Some of the storms in the Heartland could turn severe later today. Overall, today looks much more quiet than yesterday. By later today our winds will come out of the north, basically eliminating the severe threat for those of us in the Big Country. Tonight we’ll call it partly cloudy with lows in the mid 60’s.
The seven-day shows a slight chance for rain today as well as Friday and Saturday, tomorrow will be dry with partly cloudy skies. Thanks to more sunshine, temperatures will also be a little bit warmer come mid week with highs pushing ninety degrees.
