2014 West Texas Fair & Rodeo

September 4-13, 2014
Welcome to this years’ 116th West Texas Fair and Rodeo. The theme this year is “A Salute to Our Heroes.” We wish to celebrate and honor those who have or currently serve and help others as a firefighter, police officer, DPS officer, EMT, and military.
 
At the West Texas Fair & Rodeo you're sure to find a plethora of delicious food, a carnival with a variety of rides for everyone to enjoy, two rounds of a Tractor Pull that are sure to excite the boys, a week of PRCA Rodeo, a barn full of some of the best livestock from across Texas, musicians, entertainment and much more!

The West Texas Fair Grounds are located east of Abilene on State Highway 36 and Loop 322, only 3 miles from Downtown Abilene. Telephone service will be maintained on the Fair Grounds throughout the Fair for local and long distance calls.  Office (325) 677-4376.

Events Schedule

Gates open 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. daily
Gate admission will not be charged until 1 p.m. Monday - Friday
Gate Admission will be charged Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Gate Admission
$8 adults; $4 students K - college (Weekdays)
$11 adults; $4 students K - college (Weekends)

Rodeo-Reserved Box Seats
$15.00 for Tuesday - Thursday
$20.00 for Friday and Saturday

CARNIVAL RIDE TICKETS
Midway open
5 p.m. - 11 p.m. - Monday - Friday
1 p.m. - 11 p.m. - Saturday and Sunday
Strip of 24 tickets - $20
Single tickets - $1 each
Kiddie rides require 2-4 tickets
All other rides require 3-5 tickets
Thursday, Sept. 4 - Carnival Armband $25
Sunday, Sept. 7 - Carnival Armband $25 with coupon
Thursday, Sept. 11, Carnival Armband $25 with 6 empty cans - Coca-Cola Product
Daily Carnival Armband - $30

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS
SNEAK-A-PEEK - Thursday, September 4 - 5:00 pm to closing. Free Admission to fairgrounds. Armbands may be purchased for $25.00. Armband allows admission to all carnival rides desired. Food concessions will be open; however, no exhibit buildings will be open.

COLLEGE STUDENT DAY - Friday, September 5. All college students admitted free with current college ID.

SCHOOL DAYS - Saturday-Tuesday, September 6-9. School day tickets good only on these days. (Tickets will be distributed to schools in the Big Country area by the Fair Office upon request from school officials.)

$2 RIDE NIGHT - Tuesday, September 9. All rides will be $2.00 each.

SENIOR CITIZENS' DAY - Wednesday, September 10 - Free admission to all senior citizens 60 years or older: must show proof of age.

***SPECIAL WEDNESDAY ADMISSION: $1 admission per person for ages 5 to 59 years of age.

CANTASTIC NIGHT - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - 5 pm to closing. Free admission to the fairgrounds for 6 empty Coca-Cola product cans. Armbands may be purchased for $25.00. The armbands provide admission to all the carnival rides desired that night.
