Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Hilda grew up in a small, diverse suburban town along the Raritan Bay.
In her childhood, she often questioned weather phenomena gazing towards the sky, impersonated meteorologists on television and spoke about how one day she would be the person standing in front of the green wall telling viewers to grab their raingear.
Hilda graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach with a bachelor degree in Applied Meteorology with a concentration in Broadcast Media and a minor in Air Traffic Management. She joined the university’s weather channel, Eagle Cast where she practiced numerous roles as producer, director, and broadcast meteorologist. She additionally gained experience interning with Public Maine Broadcasting, WSBB AM1230 and AM1490 Radio, proudly serving all of Volusia County and became a professors’ teaching assistant to Emmy Award winner, Dr. Lou McNally.
Hilda’s professional goal has always been to serve others with a smile and maintain them weather-wise. She is overjoyed to start her broadcasting journey in the Key City of Abilene, Texas!
In her free time, Hilda enjoys traveling, staying fit in the gym, cooking new recipes and playing her Labradoodle, Maple.
