Born and raised in New England, Zach grew up in the small, rural, and historic town of Colchester, Connecticut. He developed a passion for the weather after completing a chapter on Meteorology in his sixth-grade science class at William J Johnston Middle School. His next steps in pursuing his passion came in 2014 when he applied to Western Connecticut State University to major in Meteorology. After being accepted, he received world-class instruction while he learned everything from how to solve differential equations to how to deliver an effective weathercast. During the spring semester of his senior year of college, he interned at Fox 61 in Hartford, Connecticut. While there, he learned from some of the best in the business. They taught him things about the Broadcast Meteorologist business that couldn’t be learned in the classroom. Upon completion of his internship, his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, and his Minor in Mathematics, he knew he wanted to be a Broadcast Meteorologist. Zach is overjoyed and thankful for the great opportunity to start his career in Abilene, Texas at KTAB-TV as the Morning Meteorologist.
