Dustin Baker

Dusty Baker was born in Santa Clarita, California. Looking for a change of scenery to pursue his passions of working for a Division-1 college football program, Baker moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University. Baker graduated from TCU in May of 2017 and is now working in his first professional news job.

Baker gained his passions for journalism and sports broadcasting when he was a kid listening to the voice of Vin Scully, the Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Fame broadcaster, calling Dodger games.  Baker began to pursue his interest of doing play-by-play broadcasting by studying at TCU’s Schieffer School of Journalism as a Journalism major.

Fun Facts:

  • Baker is named after Dusty Baker, the former left-fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers (Baker’s favorite team) and current manager of the Washington Nationals.
  • Baker started a TCU sports talk show, “Unscripted,” in the spring of his senior year.
  • Baker studied abroad in London, where he had the opportunity to travel to 15 countries in the process.
