ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who embedded a pair of scissors into a cat’s back.

The cat was found curled up in the backyard of a home on Santos Street and College Street on February 6.

A press release says the cat was curled up with, “scissors protruding from its back”.

The cat made a full recovery after receiving surgery. One of the veterinarians who operated even adopted him and named him Marty!

“This is one of the very worst animal abuse attacks we have seen in the last 20 years. It is very urgent that our community identify and deal with whoever attacked this cat. The attacker is a definite threat to other animals and people as well,” Paul Washburn with Rescue the Animals says.

Anyone with information on this incident of Animal Cruelty is asked to contact Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325)676-8477.
