3 suspects arrested for armed carjacking in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Three suspects were arrested for an armed carjacking in Abilene Sunday night.

Jessie Lopez, 20, Ernest Trevino, 22, and Cynthia Shadden, 21, were all taken into custody for Aggravated Robbery. Lopez is also facing Possession of Marijuana charges.

A report filed with the Abilene Police Department states the victim was giving the suspects a ride around 9:00 p.m. when Lopez “produced a handgun and the victim was ordered to surrender his property at gunpoint.”

Trevino began driving the vehicle after making the victim get back inside, and they drove around Abilene for awhile before letting the victim out at S. 14th Street and Treadaway Boulevard, according to the report.

The victim walked to a nearby store and called 911.

Officers then found the vehicle, all three suspects, and other evidence at a home on the 100 block of Locust Street.
