ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man accused of robbing two convenience stores Friday night has been arrested.

Odis McKnight, 40, was taken into custody for two counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Possession of Marijuana after an Abilene police officer tracked him down at a third convenience store.

An arrest report states the first robbery occurred in north Abilene just before midnight. A clerk told officers the suspect, who had his hands in his jacket, said  “don’t do anything stupid and I won’t hurt you. I want everything out of the register. I want all of the big bills.”

The clerk was also able to give a description of what the suspect was wearing.

Around 15 minutes later, the arrest report states another robbery was reported. The suspect, who was described as wearing similar clothes as the suspect in the first incident, told the clerk “give me all the money including the big bills or I will shoot you.”

After an additional 15 minutes passed, an Abilene police officer noticed the suspect’s vehicle pulling into a convenience store on the 3000 block of Pine Street, so McNight, the driver, was stopped and detained, according to the arrest report.

The report also states clothing matching the description provided in the robberies, as well as marijuana, and $113 in cash was found in McNight’s possession when a K9 unit searched his vehicle.
