Abilene man indicted for May 2018 7-Eleven shooting

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man has been indicted on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a man after a confrontation at someone’s house continued at a nearby convenience store.

According to court documents, 25-year-old Antwon Lamar Ellis was indicted Tuesday for the May 2018 shooting that occurred at 7-Eleven in the 5100 block of South 7th.

An officer had just responded to a call at a house on Taos Street where numerous people were involved in a confrontation. After the crowd dispersed, the officer reported seeing two vehicles from people involved in the confrontation pull into the convenience store, and then hearing gunshots shortly thereafter.

When the officer turned around and went back to the 7-Eleven, he found a man who had a minor injury and brass shrapnel on his elbow, according to the document.

Witnesses reportedly told the officer that Ellis fired a pistol, and police found a shell casing on the ground next to a nearby gas pump, the document states.
