BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Brownwood man who fled from his trial during a break last week has been rearrested to serve his 60-year prison sentence.
Jaime Arredondo, 41, was located at Brownwood residence Thursday morning and arrested by police, with assistance from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
Arredondo walked out of court while he was on trial for possessing 6 grams of methamphetamine Tuesday. He was not present when received his 60-year prison sentence, which took into account his extensive criminal history in addition to the small possession charge.
He will now serve his sentence while awaiting trial for his alleged involvement in Brownwood’s biggest methamphetamine bust ever – 627 grams seized from a Brownwood home in January 2017.
Arredondo was indicted on charges related to that incident in February, along with 7 co-conspirators.
BigCountryHomepage will provide updates as that case proceeds to court.
