ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A dive team recovered a cell phone during a law enforcement-led investigation at Lytle Lake in southeast Abilene.
Members of the Abilene Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety began the investigation at Shoreline Drive, where crews began combing the lake around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The phone was recovered around 11:30 a.m.
Officers at the scene told KTAB and KRBC the cell phone is connected to a “follow-up investigation” but wouldn’t elaborate on the nature of that investigation.
Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge confirmed to KTAB/KRBC Monday evening that the phone is not connected to a murder investigation.
BigCountryHomepage will provide more information on the investigation as soon as additional details are released.
