ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The former director of the Wylie Baptist Church Child Development Center has been arrested after allegedly failing to report potential child sex crimes involving a daycare worker.

Amanda McKee turned herself into Callahan County Wednesday morning on a Failure to Report charge during the investigation into the daycare worker, Benjamin Roberts, 25, who was arrested for arrested for Continuous Sexual Abuse of Children, Indecency with a Child, and Possession of Child Pornography last month.

Court documents state McKee received “numerous complaints on [Roberts] from parents and other employees,” but no action was ever taken.

Two employees even reported an incident where they observed Roberts aroused after a child was sitting on his lap, according to the documents.

Parents also voiced concerns about the lap-sitting and inappropriate touching. The documents state “some of these parents removed their children from the facility because no corrective action was taken.”

One parent even told McKee to keep Roberts away from his daughter after learning Roberts had been rubbing her back at nap time, the documents reveal.

McKee bonded out of jail on Wednesday afternoon.
