ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Multiple suspects remain at large days after a man was shot and killed at an Abilene apartment complex.

Chance Bonni, 23, was killed after he answered the door at his apartment on the 5100 block of Fairmont Street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He was shot in the upper torso after closing the door.

Witnesses report seeing two men earing hoodies at the scene of the shooting.

Police believe drugs and possibly trafficking were involved in this homicide and Chief Stan Standridge wants to assure citizens Bonni’s death was not a random act of violence.

No further description of the suspects has been released, but Chief Standridge is confident this case will end in an arrest.

BigCountryHomepage will update this article when additional information, including the suspects’ identities, is released.
