ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) Three Abilene juveniles have been arrested for a string of criminal mischief crimes that include breaking into the Adventure Cove water park, stealing golf carts, and damaging property at McMurry University.

The unnamed juveniles were taken into custody Friday. A 12-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief and Theft, and two 14-year-old suspects have been charged with three counts of Criminal Mischief, Theft, and Burglary of a Building.

Police say the trio’s crime spree began when they broke several windows from a business and vehicle located on the 1400 block of Peach Street. Then later that day, they allegedly broke windows at a McMurry University storage facility, then stole a golf car from the university, which was later recovered.

Saturday, two of the juveniles targeted the business on the 1400 block of Peach Street again, breaking windows to a garage, then they later went to Adventure Cove, broke windows, and stole a key to other city property, according to police.

The three juveniles were implicated in a total of five cases involving a stolen golf cart, broken windows at a south Abilene business and at a storage facility, a press release states.

They caused a total of around $5,500 worth of damage.

Police are now encouraging parents to talk to their children about the consequences of criminal behavior.
