ABILENE COMMUNITY THEATRE ANNOUNCES DIAL “M” PERFORMANCES BEGINNING AUGUST 31ST
Abilene Community Theatre is proud to present DIAL “M” FOR MURDER, written by Frederick Knott and directed by Mike Stephens. Performances will be August 31st thru September 9th on ACT’s Main Stage.
In DIAL “M”, Tony Wendice married his wife, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for the same reason. He arranges the perfect murder and blackmails a scoundrel into strangling her. Unfortunately, themurderer is murdered and the victim survives. But Tony uses this twist to frame Margot, who is then convicted for the murder of the man who tried to murder her. Will the truth be discovered before she is executed?
Frederick Knott originally wrote DIAL “M” FOR MURDER originally as a BBC television production. Knott adapted it for stage, where it premiered in London in 1952, moving to New York later that year. Knott then went on to write the screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 film version.
DIAL “M” is directed by ACT Board Member Mike Stephens, who is assisted by Jedidiah Martin and Tyler Sparks. Tennis pro Tony Wendice & his wife Margot are played by Aaron Schutter and Cecilia Goad, while MattMalsanka plays American crime TV story writer Max Halliday, Adam Singleton plays Detective Hubbard, and assistant director Jedidiah Martin plays Capt. Lesgate. The Cast is rounded out by Rob Davidson, Gloria Ramirez, Tyler Sparks, Hannah Whittington, and Mikayla Whittington.
DIAL “M” FOR MURDER will be performed at Abilene Community Theatre, 809 Barrow Street, on August 31st, September 1st, 7th, & 8th at 7:30pm, and Sunday matinee performances on September 2nd and 9th at 2pm.DIAL “M” FOR MURDER is being produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $13 for seniors, active military, and students. Tickets will go on sale for current season ticket holders on Monday, August 20th, and to the general public on Monday, August 27th.
