News release from The Alliance for Women and Children:
Fall 2018 Alliance After-School Care Enrollment Days Saturday, August 4th & Wednesday, August 15th
Where will your child be after school? Believe it or not, the after school care hours could be the most productive or destructive hours in your school ager’s life. Be proactive by providing them with a safe, fun, and interactive environment to further their development.
We’re here to help! The Alliance After-School Care is currently enrolling children for the fall for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. This year’s Enrollment Days are Saturday, August 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday August 15th from 8:30a.m. to 7:30p.m. at the Alliance for Women & Children office located at 1350 North 10th Street. Attendees will have a chance to enter a drawing for a $100 gift card to Walmart, a free month of after school care for your family or a backpack full of school supplies! The drawing will take place on Friday August 17th. If parents are unable to register their child on the Enrollment Days, they may stop by the Alliance during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or register online at www.allianceforwomenandchildren.org.
Alliance After-School Care provides quality, safe, after-school care for children in grades Pre-K – 5th grade at AISD schools including Long Early Learning Center for 4 and 5 year olds. We are also at Merkel, Buffalo Gap and Clyde Elementary and Intermediate Schools. All sites are licensed by the State of Texas and supervised by trained staff to offer a safe, nurturing environment for children after school until 6:00 p.m. Children enjoy organized games, arts and crafts, homework assistance, snacks, and special visits from various community groups, providing out-of-the-box learning and physical education!
The cost for the after-school program is $150 a month for 1 child and 30% off for each additional child, plus a one-time $25 enrollment fee. The Alliance offers financial aid and scholarships to qualifying families and is a Child Care Services Program (CCS) vendor. According to the Alliance After-School Care staff, several schools fill up quickly so parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Parents should allow 30 minutes to register their child. For more information, contact the Alliance for Women & Children at 325-677-5321 or stop by the offices at 1350 North 10th Street to register.
