ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – KTAB News hosted forums Monday and Tuesday night to give Abilene citizens a chance to get to know their Mayoral and City Council candidates before early voting next week.

The forums, entitled “The Final Say”, were moderated by KTAB’s Special Political Contributor, Retired Air Force Colonel and Dyess Wing Commander Michael Bob Starr, and sponsored by the Abilene Realtors Association.

Topics discussed included the state of Abilene’s roads, budget priorities, political ideologies, downtown development, and more.

Mayoral candidates also gave perspective on how they would entice young professionals to stay in Abilene, and city council candidates discussed their views on regulating the local payday loan industry.

Full videos of the debates can be viewed at the bottom of this article. Before hitting the polls next week, please, give them a watch and get educated about how these fine men (and woman) want to lead the City of Abilene.

Early voting for the May election will take place from April 24, 2017, through April 28, 2017. Polling locations for early voting in Taylor County can be found here
